I'm trying to find a music download site that will work with window eyes. I've tried using a torent site but I got a virus from it. I've also tried lime wire and eztracks.com. It installed a program and when I tried to download a song it took me to another site that had nothing to do with music.

Okay, this costs $10 monthly, but it is legal and no viruses. emusic.com

I heard that EMusic is pretty good.

I found a site called i love wavs.com. It is free and very accessible. It is limited on music, but it also has tons of sound effects.

I have heard good thinkgs about emusic and I highly recommend walmart.com. These days I think your really better off buying music from reputable sites rather then free downloads.

Post 8 by audioadict (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Tuesday, 07-Aug-2007 19:20:53

I guess sites where you can buy music have a better selection, but I go for the free stuff. Why buy something if you can get something for free.

Because you know what you are getting? I hope...

You should use Utorrent.

download.com is good for independant music

Is walmart complicated when it comes to putting the music on your ipod or burning a cd? I heard something that the downloads are in 2 different spots? The song and the license or something like that.

Post 13 by changedheart421 (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Monday, 13-Aug-2007 17:48:02

I use bare share, bitlord for torrents, limewire, and KCEasy. These all work well and I always when getting a torrent run a virus scan. I have used walmart before but you have to get things on your computer for there licenses. After a while you end up having to buy all the songs again after the small file expires that permits the songs to play.

Post 14 by WillieTheWoof (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Monday, 13-Aug-2007 21:32:02

I have never had problems with licenses expiring. as far as downloads don't know about going to two different places. I just download the tunes. As far as putting them on your mp3 player you would need to convert them to mp3. I have seen mp3 downloads available but don't know if this is for every song.

I've went to some sites that have midi files to download. There in midi format, so they don't have words. If anyone is interested, they are www.findmidi.com, www.mididelight.com, and www.midiforyou.com. These sites are also quite accessible.

Hi All, I know a website where you can download music and descriptive movies for free. The site is www.blind-corners.com/UploadedFiles.htm. If the address is incorrect, or you are having trouble with it or downloading, let me know.

Post 17 by Harmony (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Thursday, 20-Sep-2007 17:40:02

I'll try that. I guess we just take off the htm that is on the end?

Post 18 by battle star queen (I just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 20-Sep-2007 22:08:31

Actuallynno. The htm is part of the address. And the u in uplloaded and th f in files aee capitalized.

Post 19 by Harmony (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Friday, 21-Sep-2007 16:40:47

What does that say? Does it say they are capitalized, or not? Sorry, I can't read that spelling very well.

Post 20 by battle star queen (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 21-Sep-2007 17:36:38

What i meant to say is that you leave the htm and the u in uploaded and the f in files are capitalised.

I've just tried another website called www.downloads.nl/ and found that it isn't very accessible with Jaws. I haven't used windoweyes yet, so I don't know what it's like with that.

Post 22 by bisco_42 (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Friday, 28-Sep-2007 1:30:47

Torrent sites are the best and most efficient. However, public ones are to be avoided for the most part.

There are private ones that hold all uploads to strict high standards (no bugs, no skips/pops/other glitches in the music, very specific/strictly adhered-to ripping/encoding specifications for example) but getting access to them can be a problem unless you know anyone who'd give you an invite. I have a few invites to indietorrents.com if anyone's interested; it's a site dedicated to non-RIAA affiliated artists. If you're into any really obscure/avant-garde stuff, this is definitely what you want. If you're looking for this week's top 40, however, I can't see you getting anything out of having access to this site.

Does anyone know if jaws works with Rapsody?

Post 24 by Voldemort (Account disabled) on Friday, 05-Oct-2007 10:09:33

I wouldn't be ddiscussing torrents on here, seeing as some of that stuff you dig up from UTorrent and Bearshare is illegal and the RIA can come after your ass.

Yeah look what just happened to that lady.

Yeah, she got to pay a lot of money. About 24,000 dollars per song I think.

Post 27 by battle star queen (I just keep on posting!) on Sunday, 07-Oct-2007 14:54:58

Plus with torents you can get viruses and other crap.

Post 28 by WillieTheWoof (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Sunday, 07-Oct-2007 20:53:30

Amazon has also come out with a new music download and the files are not DRM protected

Post 29 by Voldemort (Account disabled) on Sunday, 07-Oct-2007 21:13:09

Well, if you keep your system like a fortress, and you manually inspect each file, you don't have to be too worried about viruses.

Post 30 by bisco_42 (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Monday, 08-Oct-2007 4:37:03

I've been using torrents for five years and my computer was never more secure than most others. I've yet to come across a torrent file with viruses in it.

Limewire, bearshare, etc. are all horrible virus breeding grounds though and I have no idea as to why people still use them.

But with torrents, if you're not a complete idiot, you should be fine (in regards to both viruses and getting in trouble with the law).

Thanks to torrents, I've been turned on to literally thousands of bands I never would've heard of otherwise.

does anyone have an invite to demonoid?

Post 32 by bisco_42 (I can't call it a day til I enter the zone BBS) on Thursday, 11-Oct-2007 7:01:37

I do. Message me your email address.

Speaking of demonoid, it's kinda funny how they have an easily understandable audio captcha for when you sign up while most legitimate companies who sell shit don't.
